Johnson Forest Campaign

We are Half Way There! -- Help Keep Savary Green – Donate to the Johnson Forest and Help save a 2.5 acres ocean-view forest on Savary Island

The Johnson Forest is near Mermaid Rock and the Sand Trail at Henderson Rd. (Mid Island) and is home to Red Cedar, Douglas Fir, Arbutus, Western White Pine and Shore Pine.

The Johnson Family owns the 8 undeveloped lots. This is the largest block of lots owned by one family on Savary. The land was appraised at $465,000. The family has very generously offered to donate 4 of the 8 lots, valued at $200,000 to SILT. We needed to raise $265,000 and thanks to our donors, we have raised $132,575 are now half way to reaching the goal!

We need your help. Here is a chance to protect a piece of greenspace and make the Island a better place now and forever. With over 1750 mostly 50ft lots, Savary has the highest density of any of the Islands in the Salish Sea. Each parcel protected on the Island is a gift to present and future generations and helps to undo Savary’s legacy of over subdivision.

SILT is a charity and donors receive a tax receipt for their contributions. Donors may contribute by mail, (Box 141 Lund, BC V0N 2G0) or online, as a one-time gift or monthly. Let's do this together for Savary.
